A Crazy day for a Market

Lets just say that the weather lately has been more than un-seasonal....

Friday night greeted us with a huge down poor and then Saturday bought the craziest, wild, random wind gusts you have ever been in!!! Definitely less then ideal weather conditions for a market stall outside. Belinda and I still braved the weather conditions, put on a smile and set up our stall at The Handmade Expo bright and early. I love this action shot of Bel desperately holding down her stock while trying to catch my fly away jewellery!!

After battling with the wind while setting up, we very quickly realised that a better solution was to move our tables up against the wall and hopefully get a little wind protection. We pulled down the marquee before it blew away and spent the entire day holding down our table cloths and running after fly away stock. By 12pm we decided it best to accept defeat against the wind, pack up and head home. There were other stall holders that had exactly the same idea. The poor lady next to us had her whole table blow over, even though it had sand bags on it!!!

A very big thank you to all those who braved the crazy wind and came out to the markets, we definitely appreciate the support!!! A big thanks to the lovely girls who organise the Handmade Expo market every month, you all do a wonderful job :) See you next month!!

  1. It was the best we could do weather wise ! At least it wasn't raining and we still had lots of customers! Thanks for braving it with us.

  2. So sorry you had such wind to spoil your day of sales and meeting people. Later you will think of this day and laugh at the craziness. Hopefully next month will bring perfect weather for strolling customers who are buying!!!
